Panchkula, May 17 : Haryana Chief Secretary Sh Anurag Rastogi, along with Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary , Revenue Dr. Sumita Misra, on Sunday held a video conference from Chandigarh with Deputy Commissioners of all districts to review the progress of the ongoing census operations across the state.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the current status of census activities was conducted, and officials were directed to expedite the pace of work.
Clear instructions were issued that strict action must be taken against employees found negligent in their census duties or failing to properly discharge their responsibilities.
Following the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sh Satpal Sharma chaired a review meeting in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat with officials of the concerned departments regarding the ongoing census operations in the district.
He said that FIRs would be registered against employees who fail to report for duty, and letters recommending their suspension would be sent to their respective departments.
The Municipal Corporation, Panchkula, has submitted an official list of 21 employees found negligent in this regard. Letters will be sent to the heads of their respective departments to initiate suspension proceedings against them.
In addition, a two-day show-cause notice has been issued to Sh Deepak Sukhija, Charge Officer, Municipal Council, Kalka. If satisfactory progress in census work is not observed within the stipulated period, suspension proceedings will also be initiated against him.
The administration is treating the census exercise with utmost seriousness, and no negligence or obstruction will be tolerated. The government aims to complete the census process in a transparent and time-bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the public to cooperate with census enumerators and provide accurate and complete information to ensure the successful completion of the census operations.
Among those present at the meeting were City Magistrate Jagriti, Tehsildar Panchkula Suresh Kumar, Tehsildar Kalka Nitish Singla, District Education Officer Sandhya Chhikara, and other concerned officials.
