Two members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were killed in an encounter with police in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, in the early hours of Sunday. The joint operation was carried out by the Haryana Police and Delhi Police.

Who Were the Gang Members Killed in the Encounter?

According to SP Vikrant Bhushan, the deceased have been identified as Pravesh, a resident of Tibba Danasher, and Himanshu, a resident of Jakhod Khera village in Hisar district. Both were wanted in connection with the murder of a gym operator named Kapil in Hansi on June 11.

According to The Tribune, each carried a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on their heads.

How Did the Police Encounter Unfold?

The police team acted on specific intelligence inputs that the two gang members, armed with weapons, had arrived in Bahadurgarh to carry out another crime. When police attempted to intercept them, the duo opened fire.

In self-defence, the police retaliated. During the exchange of fire, a police constable sustained a bullet injury to his leg. The two gang members were killed in the encounter.
