FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS ONGOING; MORE ARRESTS AND RECOVERIES LIKELY
CHANDIGARH/AMRITSAR, - Counter Intelligence (CI) Amritsar has busted a narcotics smuggling module with the arrest of two operatives and recovered 7 Kg Heroin from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav.

- • Ravinder Sharma (Gurbaksh Nagar, Amritsar) arrested
- • 7 Kg Heroin recovered
- • Maruti Suzuki Brezza (PB39L7651) impounded
- • Hero Passion Motorcycle (PB02BU2253) impounded
DGP Gaurav Yadav said preliminary investigation revealed the accused were actively involved in transporting heroin consignments for a wider narcotics network.
Police intercepted the suspects near Adda Bohru on the Amritsar to Jhabal road. 4 kg of heroin was found under the driver's seat of the car, and 3 kg was recovered from Ravinder Sharma.
FIR No. 19 dated 25-03-2026 has been registered under sections 21, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar.
