The NTPC Koldam hydroelectric power project in Bilaspur district is stepping up its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work in Himachal Pradesh. The company is focusing on education, healthcare, women empowerment, sports, and environmental conservation, said S.S. Rao, Chief of the NTPC Koldam project, while speaking to media persons.
NTPC Koldam CSR Focus on Education and Healthcare
Rao said the organisation has consistently worked towards fulfilling its social responsibility and remains committed to improving the quality of life in the project-affected and surrounding areas. According to The Tribune India, NTPC has contributed nearly 50 per cent of the total cost of education and healthcare projects in the region.
Women Empowerment and Skill Development Initiatives
The company has launched several initiatives for women empowerment, skill development, and self-help groups. These programs have benefited around 170 women since 2019, as reported by The Tribune India.
Healthcare Infrastructure Strengthened
NTPC has also strengthened healthcare infrastructure in the area. The company provided medical equipment worth around Rs. 25-40 lakh to Sundernagar Hospital's operation theatre, according to The Tribune India.
