Panchkula DC Warns Officials Over Illegal Construction Failure
Panchkula, May 18 : Taking cognizance of the failure to act against illegal construction in Surajpur village, Deputy Commissioner Sh Satpal Sharma, while presiding over Samadhan Shivir, directed the Junior Engineer of the Municipal Corporation to submit a reply within two days. He warned that failure to respond would invite strict disciplinary action against the concerned official.

The Deputy Commissioner was hearing grievances of residents during the Samadhan Shivir held at the Mini Secretariat today. During the shivir, he heard 13 grievances raised by residents and directed the concerned officials to resolve them on a priority basis without delay.

Furthermore, taking strict note of pending and reopened complaints dating back to 2025 and 2026, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials of the concerned departments to resolve the issues and submit a comprehensive report by Thursday.
Expressing displeasure over the absence of concerned officials at the Samadhan Shivir and the practice of deputing subordinate staff in their place, he directed the absent officials to submit explanations for their non-attendance. He categorically stated that only the concerned officials themselves must attend such meetings, warning that sending subordinate staff in their stead would invite strict disciplinary action.

Acting on a request from a resident of Sector-12 regarding the clearing of overgrown bushes on vacant plots belonging to the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Deputy Commissioner, Sh Satpal Sharma directed the HSVP Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) to conduct an on-site inspection and ensure that the necessary cleaning work is carried out promptly.

In another case, a resident of Moginand village submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner regarding the non-construction of a street in the locality despite considerable delay. The complainant stated that the Deputy Commissioner had earlier directed the Executive Engineer of the Municipal Corporation to inspect the site and submit a report; however, no action has been taken by the concerned official so far. Taking serious note of the matter, the Deputy Commissioner directed the official concerned to submit a response within two days.

The Deputy Commissioner said that, on the directives of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Nayab Singh Saini, “Samadhan Shivirs” are being organized continuously in the district. He said the objective of these camps is to ensure that citizens do not have to make repeated visits to different government offices for the redressal of their grievances, but can instead have their issues addressed at a single platform.
He informed that, with this objective in mind, Samadhan Shivirs are organized every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, during which officials from all concerned departments remain present at one venue to hear public grievances and facilitate their prompt resolution. He further stated that the Chief Minister himself joins these Samadhan Shivirs through video conferencing to obtain direct feedback from the public.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all officials to ensure that the grievances raised during the Samadhan Shivirs are resolved expeditiously and without unnecessary delay.

Present on the occasion were City Magistrate Jagriti, eminent persons Jasmer Banjara and Vipin Liddu and officials from various concerned departments, including the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Health, Education, Development and Panchayats, Excise and Taxation, Fisheries, Forests, Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, the Municipal Corporation, and the Police Department.
