At the trailer launch of the upcoming film Ohh My Dog, actor Pankaj Tripathi made a strong point about the way dogs are referred to in Hindi cinema. He said he prefers to call them ‘shvaan’ instead of ‘dog’ because the Hindi word ‘kutta’ has been turned into a curse by the film industry.

Speaking at the event held at a multiplex in Mumbai, Tripathi explained his choice of words. He said, “I would not like to call them dogs. I'd like to call them shvaan kyunki kutton ko Hindi cinema ne gaali bana diya hai - kuttey! Jab ki yeh gaali thi nahin. Yeh sirf ek shabd tha.”
According to the original story, Tripathi was in his element, raising laughs while also making pertinent observations. He called the dogs the real stars of the film and noted that the two dogs, Oscar and Bruno, did not share the stage together. He laughed and remarked, “Ek hero ko utarna pada. Tab dusra hero aaya!”
Pankaj Tripathi on Animal Lovers and Human Hatred
Tripathi also shared a thoughtful observation about animal lovers. He said, “I also see people who are such big animal lovers that they start HATING humans…there has to be a balance.”
He added that he has limited screen time in the film, revealing that he had worked with director Amit Rai in OMG... earlier.
