A 40-year-old man was beaten to death in Khotpura (Dera Manchuri) village in Panipat district. The accused, who is the victim’s nephew, fled after committing the crime. The entire attack was captured on a CCTV camera installed in a building on the street.
What happened in Panipat’s Khotpura village
The deceased has been identified as Sushil Kumar, a resident of Khotpura (Dera Manchuri) village. According to The Tribune, Kavita, wife of the deceased, filed a complaint with the police. She stated that her husband Sushil Kumar was returning home late Tuesday evening. As he reached near the house of Bhani Ram, Sushil’s nephew Abhishek alias Bandar stopped him and assaulted him.
Kavita said that her husband fell down in the street after the initial assault. Abhishek then picked up a heavy stone mortar and attacked Sushil’s head and face multiple times. The attack was so severe that Sushil died on the spot.
Police investigation and case details
The Sector 13/17 police have registered a case and begun a probe into the matter. The CCTV footage from a nearby building is expected to be a key piece of evidence in the investigation. The accused, Abhishek alias Bandar, is currently absconding.
