Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh stated that the 'Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana' is proving to be a boon for the state. Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government has prioritized health, education, and employment.
Health Card Targets
- Target: 65 lakh families (3 crore people)
- Issued: 25 lakh cards already completed
- Appeal: Public urged to get cards made proactively
Medical Education Expansion
- 9 new medical colleges being established
- 600 new MBBS seats to be added
- New colleges in Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Sangrur, and more
- Shortage of human resources and faculty addressed
Infrastructure & Diagnostics
- ₹200 crore worth of equipment for medical colleges
- 22 critical care blocks (50 beds each) across districts
- MRI facilities in all district hospitals this year
- CT scan facilities expanding to 8 more hospitals
- 7 maternal and child hospitals (250 beds each) opening soon
AI-Enabled Screening Results
- 9,294 women screened: 8 breast cancer and 43 cervical cancer cases detected
- 1.07 lakh eye screenings: 21,660 vision issues identified

- 883 Aam Aadmi Clinics operational
- 1.69 crore people treated via 5 crore consultations
- CM di Yogshala: 2 lakh daily participants in 8,000 sessions
- Largest medical recruitment: 948 general and 627 super-specialist doctors
Advanced Specialized Services
- IVF services starting in Patiala, Amritsar, and Faridkot
- PET scans in Mohali and other government colleges
- Mission Amrit STEMI: 29,000 heart patients enrolled across 23 districts
- Punjab Stroke Project: AI-enabled management for stroke patients
- Tele-MANAS helpline (14416) for mental health support
The government aims to upgrade all operation theatres to modular OTs and ensure government hospitals match the quality of private healthcare providers.
