‘Dhwani The Peace’ initiative to be launched on International Noise Awareness Day
Chandigarh, April 16: An awareness campaign against rising noise pollution in the City Beautiful, Chandigarh, is set to be launched by SarvPrem Foundation and Prayog Foundation. The initiative, titled ‘Dhwani – The Peace’, will commence on April 29 on the occasion of International Noise Awareness Day.
The campaign aims to educate people across all age groups and work towards reducing noise pollution levels in the city to zero through sustained awareness and behavioral change.
Sharing details, SarvPrem Foundation founder Prem Ojha and Dr. Romika Wadhera, along with Prayog Foundation’s Project In-charge Shivangi Bansal and Project Coordinator Dr. Kavita Sharma, stated that noise pollution is increasingly becoming a serious concern and needs immediate attention.
As part of the campaign launch, a major event will be organized at DAV Public School in Chandigarh. Scientist Sunil Dogra from the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee will attend as the chief guest. During the program, an ENT specialist will educate students about the harmful effects of noise pollution.
The event will also feature speech and painting competitions, where students will express their views and spread awareness about the issue.
Organizers further informed that the campaign will run for one year, during which more than 100 programs will be conducted across the city. The focus will be on encouraging citizens to adopt responsible behavior and actively participate in reducing noise pollution.
